I actually wrote this list about two and half years ago. As a Uni student back then, I was far more motivated during that time then I am now; however, we all have our down times and if you are at this point here is something for some artists who feel a little uninspired as they look at a black canvas, or sheet of paper. What do you like to do when your feeling a little uninspired and bored with your work? These are a few things I like to do 1: Grab a selection of fine-liner pens and experiment with different lines and scribbles. 2: Make a mind map of things you love. This will help you decide on what you want to focus on. 3: Go to the local thrift shop and find old books no-one wants to read anymore, and make adrawing journal out of it. 4: Have a cup of tea... Tea relieves the brain of stress. 5: Try an abstract painting. You could throw a few colours together...and I mean you can literally throw the paint at the canvas. You might be surprised with the result. If this ain't your style, paint some shapes against each other, and fill them with contrasting patterns of your own choice. 6: Go back to the thrift shop, and buy a collection of stuff and construct something out of the items that you bought. 7: Go for a walk. Exercise stimulates the brain releasing endorphins. Therefore more ideas come to mind. 8: Put on a favourite movie or television show when you work. I did this when I was doing my Year 12 (senior year) Visual Communication and Design folio...I got 100%.... 9: Collect pictures as inspiration. Go on a 'Gallery Crawl'. 10: Try to make the most of all your art, even it if you think it sucks. Look at all your images, and think to yourself...how can I improve this?
